My CV in brief: Viviana Betti is an Associate Professor of Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the Department of Psychology, Sapienza University of Rome. She is also Vice-Coordinator of the Life Sciences Class at the Sapienza School for Advanced Studies (SSAS). Her research investigates the neural foundations of behavior, with a focus on the role of the hand, spontaneous brain activity, and human–tool interaction, bridging basic neuroscience and neuroprosthetic technologies. She is the Principal Investigator of several nationally and internationally funded projects, including an ERC Starting Grant (HANDmade), an ERC Proof-of-Concept (BRAINmade), and the FISA project EasyMove on sensorized prosthetic systems (EASy-MOVE). Her research has also been supported by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (PRIN 2022 – CONTACT) and Regione Lazio (FAST). In 2024, she received the Award for Excellence in Science from the Rector of Sapienza University of Rome.
